A place for the discussion of Minecraft and it's assoicated itemry, like servers and the suchlike, interesting buildings, all that good stuff.

On the subject of servers, I have set up a server and will have it running everyday with any luck, usually from about 3:15pm GMT onwards on weekdays, and about midday onwards on weekends. Depends how busy I am. It's currently un-whitelisted, but that's subject to change.

To connect to the server, and this is annoying and I'm working on making it so you don't have to, first download Hamachi from here:http://hamachi.en.softonic.com/
Then, connect to The_Biscuit_Ticklers
The password is password

or: biscuits.dyndns.org
Just copy and paste either of these

I'm running this using Bukkit (http://bukkit.org/) so take a look through the plug-ins list there (http://plugins.bukkit.org/#ti=&ta=all&au=) and post the ones you like the sound of here and we'll decide if the server should get them. Plug-ins work like single player mods if you don't know what they are.

The is currently no server goal, so if you can think of something that should be worked towards as a community, then suggest it!

Server Checklist:
Raise funds to get us a 24/7 lag free server- these things are by-month payments, and expensive
Build road network- started, need more things worth building a road to
Build stuff- this will never be done, always room for more buildings
Build rail network- started, need more things worth building a rail to
Make rail network fully automatic- started, need to get stations sorted and working right
Make videos- need to pick stuff to make videos about
Get the server running
Get a warp plugin
Get a safe spawning area sorted
Get a return to death point plugin
Get a Nether plugin (Obsolete)

Okay work on Thalville is started, we should get some warp mods in.

Also a roadnetwork needs to be started for the world.

Thalville, I wonder who thought that one up...

In other news, build an underground fortress! Preferably with lots of stairs going crazy like the mines of Moria! And large pits of DOOOOOOOM!

I am upset at how infrequently this server is running

Don't worry, once my exams are out the way I'll be able to run the server far more often and for longer

This weekend (21/05/2011-22/05/2011) shall be a trial run of leaving the server running for 24 hours mininum. Depending on the effect it has on my computer, the server should stay up all weekend from when I wake up on Saturday, to when I go to sleep on Sunday

If there's no adverse affects, then the server will most likely stay up for far longer


EDIT: Well, I had to take it down overnight because my computer overheated, so the max time I can run the server for is 12 hours before shutting it down

Fang you might want to post details of the hamachi network that you need to connect to first before getting on the server.

Ah, yes, server's been down today (23/05/2011) because of a whole bunch of error messages, I'm pretty sure I've fixed it and normal functionality should resume tomorrow

I actually have the damn game now guys (woo!) so I should be online from time to time.

Ok, in order to make things more interesting on the server, I've come up with a little challenge for you guys

I've built a little structure that contains treasure, the finder of it can keep the treasure. You can use any methods you want to get said treasure, but be warned! Explosive methods might get the treasure destroyed. Even if you find it too late, take a look around, you might find something that other people missed afterall

Everytime I do this, and maybe it'll be a weekly event or something for you guys to have fun with, I'll post an image of the structure on here, with a post about the treasure. I'll try and include a little hint as to where it is, so you guys can find it. Each structure will, hopefully, tie in fairly well with the area it's built in

Today's structure contains diamond treasures and good food




One more thing, I wouldn't just give you guys valuable items, now would I? Beware of traps...
