Gladiatorial Campaign

The arrow hits and kills the snake, striking it right in the head.

The remaining two snakes attack again, one hitting Mandarb for 2 points of damage, once again the poison attempts to overwhelm him and his damaged stamina flounders once more taking another three points of constitution damage which causes another two points of hp damage.

Mandarb attacks then snake that keeps biting him...

Mandarb feels the poison working it's deadly magic and is already tiring, his strike misses the snake.


Sento fairs better he hits the snake he is fighting and nearly brings it down. It is in a bloodied and furious state.

Rushir fires at the weakened snake fighting Sento in an attempt to bring it down quickly.

The shot flys wide and scatters across the arena floor.


The snakes strike again both hitting. Mandarb takes 1 points of damage, Sento takes 3. They both stand strong against they affects of the new poison injected into their bodies.

Mandarb starts sweating a little, for him this isn't going so well as he strikes out once again...

Mandarb misses once more. His weapon feeling heavier and heavier in his hands.


Despite his opponent being near death Sento misses with the swing of his weapon.

Rushir concentrates, and fires once more at the weakened one.

His concentration pays off and his deadly arrow strikes the snake, killing it instantly.



The remaining snake lashes out at Mandarb, hitting him for 3 points of damage, he remains strong against the poison.

In desperation now Mandarb once more lashes out, how does he feel so weak?

Once more his blade falls short as his constitution fails him.

Sento has more luck, his halberd strikes the beast in it's side but fails to bring it down.

Notching yet another arrow, he relaxes a little and lets fly an arrow towards the snake's head.

Once more Rushir's aim is true but this time his arrow fails to kill the beast.



The snake keeps it's attention focused on it's prey, Mandarb is hit by it's jaws for another 2 points of damage. This time his body can put up little resistance to the poison and he takes another 6 points of constitution damage, which causes 3 hp damage. He drops to the floor unconscious, body confulsing and bloated with poison.

Sento strikes madly and his halberd hit's the beast, it does enough damage to kill it but Sento keeps attacking until it's head has been crudly seperated from it's body.

Rushir drops his equipment as before, then hurries over to Mandarb and tries to carry him out of the arena.

Guards come in from the gates and start to escort you out. With help from Sento you carry Mandarbs unconsious body out of the arena. The crowd have gone from cheering at the bloodshed to watching in silence as Mandarb is carried out.


Around a minute later the poison completes it's cycle round Mandarb's body, his crippled constitution couldn't fight back the effects of the venom and slowly but surely his body shuts down and succumbs fully to the poison.


Rushir gains 400 xp from the fight.

"Well this sucks. He wasn't fighting to kill or survive, but to protect. I just wish I could've done the same for him. Or just killed those fuckers quicker."

Sento starts to speak "At least he will be at rest in the realm of whatever God he worshipped and if he chose none then I will pray for Canteth to give his spirit refuge. We must find tools to burn his body, the 'healers' that they employ here are nothing more than Cultists of Garent and they use the flesh and blood of the many gladiators to fuel their powers, if we relinquish his body to them then his soul will never be at rest."

In the small room where you have placed Mandarb's body, close to the armoury, a few torches line the walls. "I take one, you take one, we set him free and then leave. What do you say?"

"Agreed. I am unused to your ways, but it seems... fitting." He takes a torch and follows Setno's lead.

Mandarb's body is soon burning, faster than you'd expect, possibly due to the large amount of poison in his body or possibly for some less mundane reason.

Sento quickly makes his exit before any guards appear and you follow him to get food which is being served, a thin soup with bread, and then back to the room where your other comrades are.


Just before you two arrive a pair of guards arrive in your room and starts speaking "You three, we got the forth one already waiting downstairs. Elrich, Jamven and... Astrid. Come down to the armoury and select your weapons."


Same choices as the last match, one of each simple and martial weapon is avaliable and there are 20 bolts/arrows avaliable for each bow/crossbow.

A metal plate has been attached onto Elrich's stump where his hand used to be and onto that a long cruel looking blade has been bolted.

Jamven will take a Greataxe and a Shortsword for backup

Astrid takes the kukri and the rapier concentrating on the rapiers weight and feel

You see three figures approach, One of them clothed in Grey Robes, one of them in leather armour and the third is bare chested. The third man Elrich and Jamven recognise as the man from the medical facility.

The third man steps forward, as he opens his mouth to speak you can't help but to be drawn to the network of cuts and scars covering his body. "The crowd want a lot of blood today, and most of you are in no shape to do it. But I can help with that." He smiles revealing teeth sharpened to points and draws out a long needle. "One vial of blood each and I'll use some of my healing art on you."

Jamven will stare flatly at the man before proferring a hand. As soon as he notices any potentially harmful magic (if any) he'll pull his hand back

the man jabs the long needle into Jamven's arm dealing 1 point of damage. The blood starts flowing and he collects in in a glass vial. He then places a hand on Jamven and heals him for 7 points.

Astrid allows herself a chuckle before reaching out her arm.

The man once more jabs his needle and draws blood. Astrid takes 1 point of damage and is then healed for 5
