Gladiatorial Campaign

The arrow flys true and strikes him in the chest, he buckles to one knee but stays conscious. Another bolt of energy is unleashed which hits you for another 4 points of damage, the healed wounds from the day before start to open up under the punishment the magic is doing to you.

Rushir carefully focus' his remaining energy on his arrow, and lets fly.

The second shot hits the man in his shoulder, dealing enough damage to bring him to the ground bleeding and unconsious. The crowd chant at you to make the first kill of the day.

Rushir drops his weapons in the arena and quickly leaves.

The crowd boo as he is escorted out by the guards. The same guard with the clockwork gauntlet blade comes into the arena and decapitates the man you just took out with his blade before throwing the head into the crowd. This generates a cheer from the crowd.

Rushir gains 300xp

The characters in the medical facility are suddenly jolted into consciousness, the all heal 10hp and awaken to see a pale man with a bare chest covered in shallow wounds and scars. "Welcome back to the world of the living, your stay here will probably be swift and painful." He then turns to one of the men around him. "I trust our deal still stands?" The guard appears terrified by the man and can only manage a nod. "Very well then, take these men back to their cells." A group of guards form up and take the characters to the cell. An extra bed has been brought into the room, the occupants are now: Elrich, Jamven, Rushir, Mandarb, Astrid, The Priest of Canteth whose name you don't know yet and one person you have yet to actually see instead of just traces of them having slept.

(Conversation making time)

So, priest, whats your story? Im sure we are all intreagued...

"I was caught on my way between Kasserat villages when the vanguard of the invasion force swept in, they found that I could use a weapon so they sent me here, I only got here a couple of days before you did."

Facinating.... I was on the way back to see my parents, who lived in Kasserat, before going off on my travvels after studing under a scholar, where i recived my training...

"Training for what?"

A seeker. To find and reclaim a lost artifact that his order was charged with returning.

"...right. You trained to be a Seeker? Reckon you could seek a way out of this place?"

Do you not understand? The artifact was not so much a petty bauble as a state of Mind. So unless you want me to outfox this building I suggest you think more on your words before you speak..

"Sounds a bit high and mighty for this place. And who would think of looking for objects when you say seeking?"

The delightful conversation continues for about an hour. A guard comes and interupts the conversation. "Rushir, Sento and Mandarb you guys have a fight and five minutes to prepare yourself. Get yourself down to the armoury you'll find a fair selection of weapons there. The priest gets up and starts to leave, you both follow his example.

While being led to the armoury Sento quietly whispers to the two of you. "Do you have enough strength for this coming battle? I can subtly heal you if you need it."

At the armoury you see a wide assortment of weapons, anything from the simple and martial weapons table is avaliable, the guard explains that due to the large amount of blood shed over the past few days the drop in gladiators and fights has made more weapons avaliable to more people. Take your pick.

"I could do with a bit of healing, the guy I fought this morning put a serious hurt on me." He picks up a longbow as well as 20 arrows, and then a longsword.

Mandarb hefts a greatsword and smiles to himself slightly.
(I take it there's no armour?)

"I could do with a bit of patching up, if you don't mind..."

(You still have the leather armour from before...honest)

Sento heals you both for 8 points of damage he whispers "Be quiet about the whole healing thing, any divine casters are usually shipped off to be conscripted into the still human military of the Empire and I don't want to heal the soldiers killing my people."

He picks up halberd and tests it's weight before smiling satisfied with the weapon.

You are led out into the arena, in the centre of the arena has been thrown three large snakes. They hiss angrily at you and start to advance.

SNAKES

"Take them down, one by one!"
Mandarb shouts, before charging at the nearest, greatsword raised. Aiming a cleaving blow towards it

The snake recoils from the blow and hisses in pain.


Sento shouts "Their blood our ours!" and charges in next to Mandarb swinging his halberd in a wide arc. He lands a glancing blow on the snake next to the one Mandarb attacked.

Rushir moves to 30ft away and looses an arrow at the one Mandarb attacked

The arrow flies wide of all the fighters in the combat. The snakes attack biting at Mandarb and Sento. One hits each of them dealing 3 points of damage each.

The poison flows through mandarb's blood he feels himself starting to succumb to it and takes 3 points of constitution damage which also reduces his hp by 1.

Mandarb strikes again at the Snake in front of him, trying to shrug off the bite wound as he does

Your furious attack witht he greatsword narrowly misses the swift snake.

Sento's halberd also swings high and misses his quarry.

Rushir fires again at the same one, hoping to bring it down quickly.
