Gladiatorial Campaign

Astrid dons the armour and takes the sword and spear, weiging them in each hand before taking the shorsword in her off hand and taking a few moments to adjust to attune herself with the weapons. She mutters under her breath "oh great mother, protect and guide me"

You are led out to the arena. Across the otherside of the battleground, around 60 feet away is a man dressed in leather armour, shortbow in hand and a dagger at his belt. The sand on the floor of the arena is starting to get saturated with blood, men were pulling away corpses just as you were arriving, you can expect there will only be one or two more fights today as the sun is starting to get low in the sky.

The battle starts and the man facing you quickly nocks an arrow and fires it into the air at Astrid. The shot overshoots and lands in the arena wall.

Your move.

Astrid rushes the man,and jabs at him ferosiously with her spear.

Astrid closes the distance quickly, however the man sees her blow coming and dodges out of the way of her spear. He steps backwards and lets off two shots with his bow. One is deflected off Astrid's armour, the other strikes true and lodges into her chest, she takes 6 points of damage from the hit.

Astrid closes the gap and viciously attacks with both of her weapons.

Her shortspear spins wildly over the man's head but her shortsword slashes through the leather armour on his chest, drawing blood.

The man lithly darts past you before you can react and moves 15 feet past you, he draws his bow and fires again. The shot hits and deals 3 points of damage.

Astrid grins and runs to the man, striking him with both weapons again.

Her spear strike hits home and the man collapses into unconsciousness. He is not bleeding badly but he'll be dead within a few moments. The crowd shout at Astried to finish the man off.

"Die, bowman, you can't run forever"

Astrid stabs the man with her spear, gutting him like a prize pig.

The killing blow isn't as clean as you would have liked, the spear gets caught in his intestins. He coughs up blood and dies a messy, painful death. You gain 200 xp.

The crowd cheer at the blood. Guards enter the arena and escort you back to the complex where you'll be staying. You are taken to a small room with six beds in. Four of them are empty, the other two are taken up by two men. One of them looks quite badly injured. The unscathed one starts speaking. "Looks like you've got us for cell mates, you look pretty injured friend. I'm a servant of Canteth, I can help heal you faster than your body will."


Elrich is walking around the complex when a guard comes up to him and goes "You, big guy, you're up. Choose from a greataxe, flail, morningstar or kukri and choose fast.

"Healing would be greatly appretiated." Rushir moves closer to him. "But why are you healing people who may try to kill you later?"

Elleich grabs the great axe and grins. This will be fun!

You are led out to the arena, against you around 60feet away are two men. They stand next to each other, one is unarmoured and armed only with a crossbow and dagger, the other wears leather armour and is armed with a greatsword.

The stand still and silent, awaiting your move.

I run at them... I swing my greataxe towards the armoured ones head.

When you get to 30 feet away the unarmoured man makes a gesture and the floor beneath you becomes greased and slippy, you fall over at this sudden change. The armoured one moves towards you and swings with his greatsword, the attack impacts into your skull.

You take 14 points of damage and are prone.

Ellrich jumps up. In a startling attempt he throws his axe at the back guy, back sure it catches the armoured on the way.

As Elrich jumps to his feet the armoured man immediatly kicks him in the chest, he takes 5 points of damage and drifts into unconsciousness. To please the crowd the man pulls his sword high into the air and chops down on Elrich's right hand, it is cut clean off and a small stream of blood starts flowing onto the floor. He then picks up the hand and throws it to the unarmoured man who lets out a burst of fire which frys the hand and creates the foul smell of burnt flesh. He then throws the hand into the crowd where one lucky person catches it. The pair turn around and walk out, a few guards come in and pick up Elrich's unconscious body and take him to the medical facility.

((scince combat is over im assuming perspecive shifts back to room of roomy...ness))

Astrid looks up, "I belive he might just be trying to make the world a better place.. or If you look one layer through the goody two shoes bullshit the organisers might just apreciate someone who can turn out the slaughter just that much quicker..."

"Either way, it'd be good to be without the pain for a while."

"I am a prisoner here like all of us, it insults me that you would think otherwise. Canteth would not wish me to waste his lifeforce on a person such as yourself which leaves me only one other way of easing your suffering. As for you good sir I belive some healing is in order, they could call you up to fight at any time."

The man places his hand on Rushir and heals him for 8 points of damage.

"Much appreciated. I hope to return the favour someday, somehow."

The evening passes with no more fights from party members. You all heal 1 hp from your 8 hours of sleep. The group inside the medical facility are still unconscious. The group in the room are woken early in the morning by guards, you notice that one of the beds that no one used last night is unmade. Your gladiatorial breakfast consists of stale bread and warm water. A guard points at Rushir and a couple of them approach him. "You there," they say. "You look in good health how would you like to be the first up today? Good. Your choice of equipment is as follows: longbow, 20 arrows, shortsword, throwing axe and heavy flail. Hurry up and choose because the crowd is ready to see blood."

Rushir grabs the longbow and hefts the 20 arrows onto his back, then reaches for the longsword as a backup weapon.

You are led out into the arena and you see a single robed man facing off, he is standing on the other side of the arena. As soon as the fight begins he releases a bolt of force from his hand that hits you for 4 points of damage.

Rushir runs forward, notching an arrow in his bow, and fires at the man as he reaches 30ft away.
